Malta Gaming Authority’s participation at the ICE Gaming show London, Excel 2016

What was the challenge?

ICE Totally Gaming Exhibition was held at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London Docklands from the 2-4 February 2016. Independently audited attendance of 25,497 in 2015 was the highest on record for this event with over 133 countries represented. This has further increased the reputation of ICE as the most international business event anywhere in gaming. Mlta is represented at the show through the MALTA GAMING AUTHORITY. Our group won a competitive tender to construct the double decker stand at the show.

The major challenge on this project was the fact that there were only three days build-up and two days breakdown available at London Excel Exhibition Centre. This meant stringent logistical co-ordination using our Malta and Czech Republic Office set-ups to co-ordinate the event and meet this deadline. The design of the stand provided by the Authority was quite complicated due to the fact that the front of the double decker stand was covered in laminate. All components were thus prepared in our works, for instant build-up on site within the time available. We therefore had to ensure that our method statement for the construction process, along with a risk assessment and health & safety declarations are in place to ensure that in spite of the pressure being imposed on us, we would not infringe any of the rigorous regulations imposed on us by the organisers.

Description of project

The Authority issued a public tender for works on a turn-key bases. The project included the production, build-up and breakdown of the stand in London promoting the Authority as the Operator for this fast growing sector in Malta
